What is candida?
Of the yeast fungi the most frequent and the most damaging among them is candida. It can affect the whole body. There are over twenty different types of this yeast fungus in the human body. Doctors say that one third of the population of the industrial nations suffers from diseases associated with candida.
Candida normally resides in the healthy balanced body, found mostly in the intestines, genital tract, mouth, and throat. When the balance of the body is disturbed they start sprouting. This is called as Candidiasis and the fungus spreads to all parts of the body through the bloodstream releasing its toxins to many parts of the body. The harmless yeast fungus can overgrow throughout the intestine and penetrate into inner organs such as lungs, kidneys or heart. The skin and mucus membrane can also be attacked.
Candida overgrowth has large number of symptoms. The most common among them are headaches, migraines, bad breath and rectal itching. Types of fugue
The oral fungus is largely called thrush while that of the vaginal fungus is called vaginitis. This can affect both the sexes but is rarely transmitted sexually.
